Why I am not losing weight

There are several reasons why a diet may not be working, or why it may not be working as quickly as you might like. Understanding why after months on a diet you are still not losing weight,is the first step in correcting your dieting problems. First, experts say that it might be as simple as not eating enough; if you are notconsuming enoughcalories, you will not lose the weight. Doctors and Dieticians recommend eating a minimum of 1200 calories a day, that dropping below that your body will turn everything you eat into fat storage rather than building muscle that is needed, and you will not lose the weight. Another reason why you might not be losing weight it by eating the wrong kinds of food, dieting means more than cutting back on foods it also means cutting back on the right kinds of foods. It is all about portioning. Some diets recommend based on blood type eating certain foods while cutting others out of your diet totally. Another such diet suggests that any food is alright as long as the majority of the calories come from fruits, vegetables, and white meat. Limiting starches, fats, and red meats.
A third reason that you might not be losing weight is if you are developing muscle. Exercising while dieting can result in building more muscle, and so while you will be slimming down, the weight that would have gone into fat storage is going to build muscle, and that is okay. Doctors stress the importance of muscle, and say that if you aren’t losing weight because you are building muscle this is a good thing. Jill Weisenberger, M.S., R.D., C.D.E., suggests that Genetics might play a role if you are having a hard time losing the weight. In her article, 10 Reasons You’re Not Losing Weight, Weisenberg writes if both parents are obese then you are much more likely to be overweight.
